Situation:

The Campbell County Horticulture Extension Program has a well-established Enabled Gardens Initiative. Enabled Demonstration gardens have been established at: the Lexington Arboretum, Ft. Thomas Veterans Administration Domiciliary, Lakeside Commons Educational Gardens, local high schools, and adult day care facilities. Horticulture has proven to be therapeutic for individuals suffering from mental and physical difficulties. Making this possible for all clientele is the goal of this program.

Long-Term Outcomes:

The Campbell County Enabled Garden Program will become a leading resource for individuals, care providers, institutions and hospitals to learn all facets of horticulture therapy.

Intermediate Outcomes:

The Campbell County Horticulture Program will host educational opportunities for the community to learn and implement enabled gardens.

Initial Outcomes:

Raised bed gardens to be established at county sites. Increase the number of individuals benefiting from this program by 30%.

Evaluation:

Long-term Outcome: Institutions and individuals seek out information from the Campbell County Enabled garden program instructors.
