This would be a new program for both counties and with counties still in the red zone, the agents had to get creative on how to gather interest. Heritage Craft Camp, formerly The Fort Harrod Area Craft Camp, has been around for almost 50 years. Russell Co. 4-H youth created a collaborative art project for display for heart health month (February). Three hundred sixty-five youth, created Piet Mondrian hearts using the primary color pallet. By looking at the work of this artist, youth could see how primary colors can be used in art-making. These hearts were displayed at Russell County Public Library along with Cooperative Extension Service literature related to cardiovascular health; the public was also provided with CE

In Kentucky, the impact of climate change has become increasingly evident, with rising temperatures and extreme weather events. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) August 2016 report Kentucky climate is changing due to the earth’s warming. The 40% increase of carbon dioxide in the air since the 1700’s has resulted in the surface of the earth warming 1 degree.
