Building the capacity of volunteer leaders within counties is critical for the sustainability of Extension programs and reach; volunteers are also essential for maintaining a community infrastructure that supports long-term commitment to strengthen families. Through the guidance of Cooperative Extension, volunteers practice personal leadership skills in clubs, schools, and their communities as well as develop programs to fit the needs of the communities that they volunteer.
