A superintendent at a local golf course called me in to help him interpret his soil test and provide guidance on his nutrient management program. After explaining how to use the soil test data, the superintendent reduced his nutrient usage. He estimated his annual savings to be $30 per acre.

A superintendent at a Kentucky golf course attended my workshop at the golf course industry show. He learned how to properly blend his granular fertilizer and emailed me stating that he estimated his annual savings to be >$3,000 without any noticeable reduction in turfgrass quality.

The Tri-State Green Industry Conference (GIC) has provided annual training to horticultural professionals for over 80 years. The GIC has grown from humble beginnings in a greenhouse to become a premiere regional training event.This is the fifth consecutive year the GIC has experienced record breaking attendance. Over the past several years the Boyle Co. Horticulture Agent has worked closely with the City of Danville Beautification Committee, Clarks Run Environmental Educational Cooperative (CREEC), the Danville Garden Club and the Boyle Co.
