Local Homemakers expressed the importance of a need for art related activities in the community. To help with this need, the Lee County Extension Service held a family painting class. Thirty-four adults and children attended the program. Participants followed step by step instructions on how to paint a beach scene, while adding their own uniqueness to the painting. The Fine Arts program has been building the pottery studio, working with local artists, training volunteers, and offering classes since the donation of 2 kilns and a pottery wheel in 2013. Arts in the CommunityThe ability to express yourself thru art has been a focus of the Butler County FCS Agent, the Library, and the Arts Guild.
