Wolf Run Watershed Residential Stormwater Demonstration and Outreach Program
Author: Lee Moser
Planning Unit: Forestry
Major Program: Water and Soil Quality and Conservation
Outcome: Initial Outcome
Over the past year our working group has partnered with the Friends of Wolf Run to develop a demonstration and outreach program related to residential stormwater management. Surveys were conducted with both Lexington residents and local contractors related to residential stormwater needs and the potential for best management practices to address some of the stormwater issues experienced in residential settings. Friends of Wolf Run has selected partner residents to implement residential stormwater best management practice demonstration sites in collaboration with local contractors with expertise in residential stormwater management. Our team helped to document and evaluate best management practice installation and met with homeowners to provide educational resources and answer questions related to their installation. Extension publications are in development related to residential stormwater management as a part of this project.
