2021 Pest Management Field Day Provides Major Value to Kentucky Agriculture Professionals

The Pest Management Field Day at the UKREC in Princeton, KY returned to an in-person event on June 29, 2021.    The 2021 event was the third year for the field day featured research updates from Plant Pathologists: Dr. Kiersten Wise and Dr. Carl Bradley, and entomologist Dr. Raul Villanueva, all pest management extension specialist at the UKREC.  The event also featured walking plot tours of weed science research plots lead by Dr. Travis Legleiter.  The half day event was attended by 67 individuals who influenced over 950,000 acres of corn, soybean, wheat, and tobacco acres.  Participants indicated that the field day provided information at a value of $15.53.  Using participant indications of the value of information provided and acreage influenced, the field day had a total impact of $12.2 million on Kentucky agriculture.
