Boone County Master Gardener Virtual Garden Tour

Master Gardener projects and activities were reduced due to Covid-19, but this became an amazing opportunity for Master Gardener volunteers to show off their own landscapes.   Nine Boone County Master Gardener volunteers chose to open their landscapes to our cameras.  We viewed home vegetable gardens, to front landscape beds, dry creek beds to reroute water to stop erosion issues, and gardens that looked like magazine covers.  Each volunteer was interviewed about their gardens and asked where their passion for gardening derived from.  Seeing the enthusiasm and passion for gardening showed in each landscape.

There are a total of ten Virtual Garden Tour episodes, with the tenth episode being a combination of all gardens.   The episodes were view on social media sites such as YouTube, Facebook, and the Boone County Extension website reaching over three thousand views.  The gardens brought joy and ideas as people were looking to improve their own gardens.

A few comments from viewers:

“Loved the raised veggie beds.”

“Love the tours!”

“Beautiful gardens!  Thanks for sharing your love of gardening with us!”

“Your vegetable garden is wonderous, as are your flowers and shrubs!  Thank you for the tour.”
