Outcome: Long-Term Outcome
Producers are striving to improve yields and profitability. In the four river counties 20,445,125 bushels of corn are produced each year. Producers need information from UK crop, weed, insect and economic specialist to increase yields. They also receive information from seed, crop and chemical representatives. Taking all this information into play and plugging in data to increase yields is a must to stay in the game. Farmers strive to increase yields to help feed the world. In Carlisle County one producer had a yield of 194.15 bushel of corn in 2011 and was the District winner. In 2014 his yield was 261.94 bushel with the help of the village and Mother Nature. 2018 yields were 283.20 bushel and he was again District winner. 2020 he reached 324.98 bushels of corn per acre and was the KY State Corn Yield Champion and NCGA (National Corn Grower Association) state winner for KY. He has attended county programs and field days and applied the village’s information. Congratulations Kevin Hayden and other producers.
