Feeding horses and livestock during the winter in Kentucky can prove to be difficult due to wet and muddy conditions.  These conditions lead to soil erosion and disruption of soil structure, in-turn decreasing its ability to sustain adequate forage growth in future years.  This program was developed for Fayette County farmers to educate them on matters of soil structure breakdown and particular farm practices they can put in place for prevention of that degradation.  Decreased soil erosion and breakdown will allow these farms to be more sustainable as well as improve water quality.  41 people were in attendance for this program.
