With the plans to host the annual meeting of the KY Agricultural County Agents Association virtually this year, the decision was made to record the farm tours. Four of the tours were selected from the Buffalo Trace counties with all the agents working together with producers to come up with a variety of topics to be shared across the state. We received assistance from Mr. Jeff Franklin to help with the recording and editing of the videos. The topics included Reproductive Success with the IRM program, Winter Housing using a Compost Bedded Pack Barn, Tobacco Barn Working Facility, and Direct to Consumer Meat Production and Sales. These videos have received recognition including placing two of them on the Animal Science video web page. One was shown on Ag Day which is a national agriculture program, and the others have received considerable interest from agents across the state to be used in county programs or request for tours. By using the virtual format, more folks had the opportunity to see the great work our producers are doing and can learn from their experiences.
