Individuals during Covid were looking for nutrition good tasting options for food consumption. Families make choices to improve health and well-being to combat chronic diseases and obesity to improve and make healthy lifestyle changes.
The homemaker leaders training Sensational Salads was presented Live via Facebook by the Family and Consumer Science Agent.
Topics covered were nutritional value of salad greens, how to select, store and prepare salad, adding color texture to your meal, increasing vegetable consumption.
Seven counties in the Wilderness Trail area were sent information to share the video on their county’s Facebook page for their homemakers. In Clay County we had 50 people that viewed the Live video and 71 people were reached.
One person tried bok choy and Chinese cabbage. Two people asked for information on red and green lettuce, they had never made a salad with it they had only used iceburg lettuce.
