The Economic and Policy Update (EPU) newsletter is sent out monthly to over 1,000 electronic subscribers which includes county agents, producers, farm organization leaders, agribusinesses, policymakers and the media. Authors are primarily extension professionals in the Department of Agricultural Economics who write articles on various marketing, management and policy topics. Our data reveal that the EPU e-newsletters have been viewed over 10,000 times during the past year. Agents use these articles for their own newsletters, mailing lists, and educational programs.  Many of our subscribers post our articles on their social media platforms and websites to share with their followers.  Farmers indicate that these articles assist them in making many of their marketing and management decisions.  Staffers in various legislative offices have claimed that the information provided in these articles provide beneficial background information in analyzing and shaping legislation.
