The art of cooking has made a strong comeback since the pandemic and in that comeback the use of the cast iron skillets was revived. Because of this the FCS agent and program assistant conducted monthly cast iron cooking and instruction lessons via Facebook. During these lessons participants learned how to care for their cast iron, what type of stoves they can be used on, and the variety of meals that can be cooked using it.

Those who attended each class stated that they learned firsthand how to properly clean and season their cast irons, why not to use them on smooth top stoves, and many one skillet meals that they can make for their families. Attending these virtual class allows families to cook at home and to have more meal times together, promoting healthy eating and healthy relationships.
