Major Program: Administrative Functions

Plan of Work: Disease Prevention and Management

Outcome: Initial Outcome

Boyle County Extension partnered with Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center to improve access to the COVID 19 vaccine to the public. BCEO volunteered to let Ephraim use some of the meeting room space to use as a vaccination clinic. Moving the vaccine clinic from the surgery center to the Extension Office allowed people easier access to get the vaccine.

In the beginning of the vaccine roll out there were 300 shots being given each week. No doses were wasted. As accessibility to the vaccine became easier the weekly numbers at the BCEO clinic started to decrease. The clinic is still currently open serving the public every Thursday, no appointments needed.
