The COVID-19 Pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of life worldwide and presents an unprecedented challege to health and wellness. In efforts to educate our community concerning the importance, availability and access to immunizations we have engaged in the following: Ongoing and updated social media posts shared from University of Kentucky FCS Facebook Page onto our Leslie County Extension Facebook page. These shared posts provide lots of meaningful and relevant information, so far reaching over 152 people. Some of these posts shared were: COVID-19 Town Hall, Find-A-Vaccine Tool, Talk FACS :Shot of Hope and Supporting Childhood Immunity with Nutrition, Transportation Assistance and many more. Other efforts in our bag to go programs, reaching over 100 individuals monthly include lots of educational literature concerning hand sanitizers, the truth about nutrition and chronic disease, My Plate with meal planning, lots of nutrition education to boost better health and lots more. Cooperative Extension across the State is entering a new partnership with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention called the Extension Foundation Extension Collaboration on Immunization Teaching & Engagement (EXCITE). This partnership will show the strength and value that Cooperative Extension brings to our communities as we enter our efforts into the Qualtrics link: Existing Kentucky Extension Immunization Activities.
We continue to mindfully strive towards our goal of helping communities become stronger and better by sharing and teaching immunization education alongside health and wellness efforts.
