The Kentucky Volunteer Forum is one of the premier programs held for 4-H volunteers all over the state.  The bi-annual forum, held in Lexington, Kentucky, provides an opportunity for 4-H volunteers to gain knowledge through trainings in addition to sharing motivation and recognition. In 2020, a new record was set as 112 Kentucky counties sent 1138 people to attend the Forum, as well as including attendees from 11 states.  There were 183 workshops offering insightful information to enrolled participants on topics including foods, horticulture, clover buds, and photography. New to this forum was an accreditation program which offered volunteers opportunities for volunteers to become certified in a specific project area of their choice.

In January of 2021, the Kentucky Volunteer Forum Planning Committee met to begin the process that would ultimately result in the 2022 Kentucky Volunteer Forum. Involving cooperation and coordinating efforts from 4-H Agents all over the state, the 2022 KVF will require planning time of over a year from conception to the actual event. Robertson County was represented in this effort by CES Agent Sue Hughes. Planning agenda includes periodic meetings to discuss budget matters, involve stakeholders as necesary, and develop curriculum for the event.  Also necessary in the planning process will be developing a new layout for the forum to accomodate the newly remodeled Central Bank Center and Exhibit Halls. The 2021 accredidation program was deemed so successful it remains in the Forum schedule to permit volunteers certification opportunities once again.

In late April of 2021, the KVF Planning Committe will meet at Central Bank Center to develop setup procedures for retail vendors and educational booths at the upcoming forum. Purchasing of materials as well as further cirriculum development will be discussed at this meeting.
