Outcome: Initial Outcome
The Madison County Cooperative Extension Horticulture Agent offered a series of classes via zoom called "The Impatient Gardener". The goal of this series was to highlight the most important aspects of each featured topic in twenty to thirty minutes. Supplemental publications and resources were sent to the participants in advance of each class. Classes were taught each Wednesday for seven weeks at noon. Classes included:
1. Getting Started
2. Gardening in Small Spaces
3. Backyard Fruit
4. Perennial Basics
5. What to Plant Now and How to Grow It
6. Herbs
7. Gardening Q&A
Since some participants could not attend a live class, recordings were sent to everyone who showed an interest in the series.
According to the survey given at the end of the series:
27% said this was the first class they had ever attended through the Madison County Cooperative Extension Office.
96% learned where to find helpful resources.
92% Gained confidence in their gardening skills.
74% will try something new in their garden this year.

- Classes helped me immensely with planning my own garden.
- Thank you so much for sending the class recordings! My lunch time got moved and I can’t watch the live presentation now, so I really appreciate the recordings.
