Clubs during the pandemic

Author: Paula Jerrell

Planning Unit: Ballard County CES

Major Program: Volunteer Development

Plan of Work: Developing Human Capitol

Outcome: Initial Outcome

Our 4-H Clubs that meet at the 4-H Office had a hybrid of in-person and kits for our clubs this year.  Our Cloverbud leaders chose to do all kits for the year.  Each month they have a special themed kit for the Cloverbuds to pick up at the Extension Office.  Topics have been natural resources, family and consumer science (cooking) and expressive arts. The Explorers Club started out meeting in person then had to transition to kits.  They plan to meet in person again in April and May. Topics have included family and consumer science, horticultural and expressive arts.  The Technology Club has also been in person and with kits.  Their SET projects have included marshmallow catapult, rocket launcher, boat with motor and building bridges and towers with provided supplies. The Ballard County 4-H Council and leaders provided most of the funding for the kits and activities for these clubs.  Four leaders have provided leadership and ideas for these clubs.  Enrollment is 15 for Clovebuds, 10 for Explorers and 10 for Technology Club. The in person club meetings had to be limited to 10 to allow for social distancing.
