Outcome: Long-Term Outcome

The Menifee County Farmers Market serves the citizens of Menifee County two days a week during the summer months for 14 weeks.  Fresh fruits and vegetables at affordable prices are a must for our local residents.Menifee County market vendors participate in Senior Farmers Market Vouchers and WIC Vouchers.  Half of market vendors also accept SNAP benefits at their stands.  Without the support of the community the market would not be sustainable.  During Farmers Market week in the state of Kentucky a Customer Appreciation Day was held.  The Ag Agent and FCS Agent provided booths for the customer and door prizes.  The FCS agent made a KY Proud recipe for tasting and the Ag agent had set up a tomato tasting booth.  Tomatoes are the number  1 seller in the market.   10 different varieties where entered in the tasting.   Customer’s tasted and voted on their favorite variety Sun Gold was the chosen variety.
