2021 was an exceptionally difficult year for the restricted use pesticide trainings that typically occur in January and February. We had record numbers of individuals with expired cards due to the KDA exception from 2020, and we were experiencing a spike in Covid-19 in our region. However we were able to host several socially distance trainings (10 Total) and multiple on-farm trainings (3 total) in addition to making all the trainings available via zoom for those with that technology we also hosted 5 zoom only trainings. These extra trainings and precautions not only allowed us to be able to training clientele, but it also showed those clientele that we were willing to do whatever it takes to help them continue on farming in this difficult time. I was able to have several good conversations with council members and other stake holders about what they would like to see in future programing because of the effort they saw us put forward on this somewhat mundane require program.
