2020 brought the community and the world a pandemic which added new challenges to the nation, state, county, and extension. Extension Offices and Agents were asked to provide educational resources, change program delivery methods and act as community resources to help officials and local residents navigate through the massive changes that were occurring.

The Bath County Extension Office became drop off and collections points for PPE equipment and published updates throughout the year to address the immediate need at hand.  2021 promises to be better, however the Covid 19 Pandemic still looms and daily difficulties still prevail.  Winter also brought old, but new challenges with ice and snow causing major power disruptions and followed up with flooding rains, causing additional power and travel disruptions.  County Agents are still working to provide the much needed information as farmers, families, and youth prepare for spring/summer needs are being met.

County Agents stepped up their efforts with offering virtual format club and program meetings to allow residents to get the necessary qualifications, leader training hours, educational information, and stay connected to other Bath Countians/state groups.  Concentrated efforts on improving Social Media presence has been practiced to reach new and diverse audiences. Increased mailing lists assured more clientele received monthly newsletters.  Direct emails and hand delivered materials were practiced to assure that those with limited or no internet were reached.  Even though 2021 is still in its first quarter of months, Bath County Extension Agents and Staff are looking forward to get life changing, educational information out to its residents.
