The Kentucky Extension Homemakers Association was asked to help support the effort of making cloth face coverings for health care workers. At the same time, Pivot Brewing Company, closed for business, wanted to utilize their resources and give back to the community so they reached out to the Woodford County FCS Agent seeking volunteers to sew face masks. Homemaker members agreed to sew a certain number of masks, and the brewery cut that many patterns. Due to the necessity of After the masks were completed, they were returned to the brewery where all the masks were washed using the brewery equipment prior to being delivered to the hospital systems. In total, 23 volunteers made 458 masks.
