The 4-H Cloverbud program is designed to be noncompetitive, educational, activity-based, cooperative learning centered, safe, developmentally age appropriate, and success-oriented. By allowing children between the ages of 5-8 to participate in a positive learning experiences, it helps them to build life skills at a younger age.
The 4-H Cloverbud program began in 2018 in Fulton County averaging around eight Kindergartners – 3rd graders. This current year with COVID, the Cloverbud program went to a monthly grab bag edition. Eighteen youth between the ages of 5 to 8 signed up to receive monthly grab bags. Programing for the club involves lessons from each of the seven 4-H Core areas, themes around monthly Holidays, nutrition, and a craft. The goal is for Cloverbuds to be the stepping stone and door opener to other clubs when they get 4-H age.
Although not in person, parents have enjoyed the extra educational materials and craft supplies in the bags. Opportunities to attend summer camp are available as well. Watching young leaders grow up, learn life skills, and learn the 4-H Pledge is amazing to watch. Parents have been very complimentary of the program and cannot wait for their kids to attend in person!
