The Gardener’s Wheelbarrow Series has been and continues to be the most popular class series in Washington County pertaining to Horticulture. During the Pandemic all classes have gone virtual however interest is still at an all time high. For the 2020-2021 series an evaluation was done via Facebook to determine class topics. This program year there were 30 class topics with new needs determined by the evaluation such as “Best Landscape Trees”, “Saving Seeds”, “Introduction To Landscape Design”, and “Pruning Trees and Shrubs”.
All classes are done via PowerPoint video and uploaded to Facebook and the new Washington County Horticulture YouTube Channel. With recent classes meeting in person as well. Total video views for this program year are over 3500!
Some feedback from this year’s participants includes: “I just wanted to let you know how much we have enjoyed the gardening brochures via video presentations during this pandemic.” We can’t meet in person and this is the next best thing” “With all of the uncertainties right now these gardening ideas really are helpful.” and “Thanks so much for all you do with this class series!”
