Planning Unit: Christian County CES

Major Program: Agriculture

Plan of Work: Improving Basic Lifeskills, Well-being, and Quality of Life

Outcome: Initial Outcome

During the summer, the Cooperative Extension Hopkins County partners with the Hopkins County Madisonville Fair.  The summer of 2020 was slightly different though with no carnival rides, food booths, or guest in attendance.  This did not stop 4-H, FFA, and Hopkins County Madisonville Fair from working together to still have an event for the youth to enter items and show their livestock animals.   This year, youth were able to enter their items that would go into Cloverville into the County Fair to show their hard work and dedication to their projects.  There were approximately 220 entries submitted into the Home and Garden area for Hopkins County 4-H alone. For the livestock area of the fair, youth from Hopkins County and surrounding counties brought their animals ready to be shown.  Even with Covid-19, youth proved that they were still dedicated to their projects and wanted to be able to do something they love; show their animals.  To me, this proved just how strong, determined, and dedicated youth in Hopkins County are to continue with their projects through the difficult state.
