During an online discussion for a graduate class, a former Fayette County 4-H member detailed how being involved in 4-H as a youth, helped her decide on her college career. Her words were: "4-H was a catalyst for my love of the environment and people. In undergrad, I was part of a group that helped educate elementary students at William Wells Brown elementary afterschool on the environment and sustainability. It was a blast and really fed into my passion for environmental education that focuses on concern for environment and care for communities. I really can't tell you how formative 4-H was for me. " The young lady that made this quote now works in the President's Office at the University of Kentucky and is pursuing her Master's degree.
