As the community environment changed in Frenchburg in 2020 because COVID-19 restrictions. It was noticed that the community needed a program to direct their attention from COVID. The Menifee County Extension Office staff developed the “12 Days of Community Christmas” each workday December 1 – 15 a different activity was advertised. Some of the activities that were advertised were Ugly Christmas Sweater, Holiday Skit, Gingerbread House, and Best Stocking to name a few. Pictures were posted to the Menifee County Extension Facebook page. Winners were chosen by “likes” on the page. Each winner received a delicious holiday baked good from our Farmers Market Home Based Processor vendors. The program reached 33,000 Facebook viewers. One of the participants each time was the Community Family Clinic PLLC. The office coordinator of the clinic stated “It’s been a really tough this year for us here with all the changes. Not knowing from day to day what we are dealing with, so this has been a light for all of us- we’ve had so much fun as a group coming up with ideas.” Hopefully, the program put a smile on the community and help put everyone in a cheerful holiday mood.
