Increased Numbers of COVID-19 in Pulaski County

Pulaski County continues to lead the Lake Cumberland Area in the number of people identified with the COVID-19 virus.  As of December 10, the Lake Cumberland Area has experienced 10,508 cumulative confirmed cases with 2,818 being from Pulaski County.     Pulaski County Extension has continuously worked to decrease this number by encouraging everyone to wear a face mask when outside of the home,  avoiding crowds (especially in confined spaces), social distancing when around others, increasing hand hygiene, increasing general sanitation, and by avoiding the touching of the face.

The Extension Service continues to work with community partners in posting flyers for prevention of the virus.  They offer free face masks to any person or groups and encourages everyone to be aware of what they can do to decrease the risk of contacting the virus through newsletters, newspaper and social media.  More than 5,000 masks have been given out by Extension Service, and “Hand Washing Flyers” to the Pulaski County Schools.
