2020 Bale Trail

The Livingston County Animal Sciences program recently completed its 2nd annual Bale Trail fundraiser. With the limits being placed on families due to COVID, this event provided the perfect socially distanced fall activity for the community. This event had participation from 17 groups and individuals who set up displays, which included farm animals, scenes from children’s books, a giant teddy bear, and more. This event was attended by over 100 families who drove the route, which took just under 2 hours to complete. There were several pots to social media from families completing the route, many of which shared how much they enjoyed the event. The annual fundraiser sponsored by the Animal Sciences 4-H program is a great way to bring the community together, get them distracted from the current stressors of the world, and bring families to spend time together enjoying the changing of the seasons. Additionally, one stop along the trail—Bayou Bluff-- hosted a community drop off for canned goods and donations to a local organization—Helping Hands, which provides resources to families in need. They collected 1,251 cans of food and $2,233.32 in monetary donations for Helping Hands.
