KY Beef Conference
Author: Keenan Bishop
Planning Unit: Franklin County CES
Major Program: Farm Management, Economics and Policy
Plan of Work: Constructing novel communication channels through Extension programming with inclusive and diverse audiences
Outcome: Initial Outcome
The KY Beef Conference is planned and orchestrated by the D4 ANR agents and typically attracts 200+ attendees and includes a national speaker. The 2020 conference obviously could not be held in the traditional manner due to health safety concerns. The ANR agents felt that we should still host and the obvious venue was Zoom. We changed from a daytime event to evening. We felt that these changes would possibly attract more people or at least producers that traditionally couldn't travel to Lexington or attend during the day.
We did in fact reach a wider audience as more people from central and western Kentucky attended with about 200 total.
