How Do You Measure Success
Author: Sherry Becknell

Major Program: Nutrition and Food Systems General
Outcome: Long-Term Outcome
During this pandemic the world that we were accustomed to changed overnight. People found themselves in a situation they had little to no control over: schools shutting down, kids being home schooled, businesses across the world shutting down, jobs lost, financial hardship for families, low food supplies and struggles with the constant change taking place.
The Owsley County Extension Office and the Expanded Food Nutrition Education Program assistant partnered with: Booneville Shopwise, Owsley County Food Bank, Owsley County Head Start, Neighbors in Need (community organization), worked with members of the local fire department and individual citizens to get information to the people that so desperately needed it. Information on the pandemic, ways to help stop the spread of the virus, food safety, meal planning and budgeting were among the information sent to the citizens of Owsley County. The Owsley County Expanded Food Nutrition Education Program assistant provided information for food distribution places and partnered with agencies that could provide food to needed families
So how do you measure success one might ask? Success could be measured by being a part of a group that finds ways, gives hope and willing to take necessary actions to serve the citizens in need.
