Outcome: Intermediate Outcome

Due to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, traditional methods of educating individuals on nutrition and physical activity had to be reinvented.

In June of 2020 the Kenton County Cooperative Extension Services Nutrition Education Program Assistant partnered with Community and Restorative Justice-Covington, to deliver the 7 part Healthy Choices for Every Body series via zoom to low-income families in Kenton County.

With grants provided by Life Comes with It and The Tide Foundation, we were able to provide the families with food demonstration kits prepared and delivered to each family by The Delish Dish Project Team in Covington, KY.

According to national reporting system data, as a result of the online Healthy Choices for Every Body series three out of four participants showed improvement in one or more diet quality indicators, such as eating fruits and vegetables, dark green vegetables and drinking less regular soda.
