Cooking Classes On line

During the Covid-19 quarantine I taught some cooking classes and posted them to our Face Book page, Grayson County, KY Cooperative Extension.

In our first video we made the Pineapple Pork recipe from the Healthy Choices for Every Body curriculum.  My two granddaughters were able to join me in these videos.  It’s always a good idea to get your children or grandchildren in the kitchen with you.  Teaching them how to cook at an early age will carry them throughout their entire life.

In our second video, I taught the MyPlate lesson.  My 2 oldest granddaughters joined me once again.  During the video, we made the “Fruit Treat” recipe from the 2018 Nutrition Education Calendar.  My granddaughters were able to use their measuring skills and knife skills that they learned during one of the classes that I held at the Grayson County Extension office a couple of years ago.  By posting these videos on Face book, I was able to reach 333 individuals and/or families.

Making videos and teaching on line has definitely been a new experience, but I’m thankful that I am still able to teach and reach some of my clients and hopefully some new clients also.
