Nutrition Education during the Covid-19 Quarantine
Trying to teach nutrition classes during a quarantine is very challenging, but the social media platforms have made it possible and fun. We as Nutrition Education Program Assistants have had to think outside the box and use new innovative ways to keep our clients up to date and informed with the newest nutrition information from the University of Kentucky.
Using Zoom I was able to teach some nutrition education classes to several of my clients using the Healthy Choices for Every Body curriculum. It was a bit challenging in the beginning, but rewarding in the end. I had 10 people who signed up for the classes; however, there were some technical difficulties and only four of those individuals were actually able to attend.
The individuals who did attend my classes stated that they learned so much and are looking forward to more classes in the future, whether in person or online. One lady told me I was an excellent teacher.
