The Barren County Cooperative Extension SNAP-education program assistant partnered with the family self-sufficiency coordinator from Housing Authority of Glasgow to offer a Children’s cooking camp. Teen Cuisine teaches self-sufficiency in the kitchen while also promoting healthy habits. At the end of the 3-day camp, 9 of the 12 kid cuisine camp participants graduated and showed 89% improvement in frequency of tasting new foods and 80% improvement of putting cold food back in the refrigerator right away and a 75% improvement in frequency of eating vegetables as a snack.
