The Jefferson County Extension Homemakers reported a total of 19,986 volunteer hours which is equivalent to $450,941.00 given back to the community. The members provided $729.00 towards 4-H Camp scholarships and 80 members volunteered for non-Extension community activities and events. The members participated in community service work such as: Fern Creek/Highview Ministries, Southeast Area Ministry, Maryhurst, Sister Visitor Center, St. Joseph, St. Vincent De Paul Society, Jefferson County Public Schools, Ronald McDonald House, Veteran’s Administration Hospital, Nursing Homes, Dare to Care Foodbank, Center for Families and Children, Homeless Collation, Habitat for Humanity, and Gilda’s Club of Louisville. The Jefferson County Extension Homemakers are a vital asset to their communities and the County Cooperative Extension Service.
