Reaching Out While Locked In (ROWLI) Beef Webinar Series Expands to Additional Sessions

Planning Unit: Animal and Food Sciences

Major Program: Beef

Outcome: Initial Outcome

Due to the success of the initial ROWLI program and the fact that Extension offices are continuing to be shut down due to the COVID19 pandemic, the beef Extension group decided to expand the ROWLI webinar series for beef cattle producers and agents. An additional three webinars were scheduled for the remaining Tuesdays in May. Topics included Reclaiming Heavy Use Areas (forages), Update on the Current Market Environment and Timely Topics on Beef Health. These were available on Zoom and FaceBook Live with a live audience and all sessions were recorded and uploaded to YouTube for later viewing. The average viewership on Zoom were reduced from previous, but we had an increase in participation through FaceBook live with many agents feeding it through their county page. These sessions continue to serve multiple functions, first and foremost they have provided beef producers with up to date information during a time of limited direct access to Extension personnel; they have provided training to receive cost-share through the GOAP’s CAIP program and agents have used them for in-service training.
