Outcome: Initial Outcome

Due to the Covid-19 virus, there are many individuals interested in gardening and producing as much vegetables as possible.  Most inquirys are from individuals that had never grown a garden before and think it takes a large amount of land to develop a home garden.  The Master Gardeners decided to develop a small "demo garden" on the Extension facility grounds.  The Master Gardeners designed new areas and developed some existing raised beds to demonstrate how a small area can be useful and make a big difference for vegetable and edible flower production.  Over 200 Master Gardener hours of volunteer work, has established about and 1/8 of an acre garden.  In the garden there are examples of in ground gardening, raised bed gardening, extremely small High Tunnel, and "pot" gardening (small pots & water trough).  Each area has a different look and vegetable/flower product.  To date there has been over 300 people looking at the garden and getting ideas.  One lady was quoted saying "I never knew you could grow so much in such a small space".
