Author: Ralph Hance

Planning Unit: Trimble County CES

Major Program: 4-H Youth Development Programming

Plan of Work: Unrelated to a specified County Plan of Work

Outcome: Initial Outcome

This year, due to COVID-19, County programing was changed like never before.  Schools was closed, and people was not allowed to gather.  This makes the job of a  County 4-H Agent very hard, as we had to change all of our programing from hands on to virtual and self studies.  In Trimble county, and across the state, the County 4-H Agent gathered supplies and equipment to supply residents of Trimble County youth the opportunity to continue learning valuable, fun and interactive lessons while remaining safe at home.

The Agent supplied 8 Grab-N-Go Kits for the residents of Trimble County.  There was a variety of different kits and bags that families was able to take home and work on together.  Included in the kits, was a Family cook together/eat together bags with recipes, gardening kits with several different seeds that was donated to us by our local hardware store, Clay sculpting and watercolor projects for a county fair entry, sidewalk chalk games, a Science Engineering and Technology kit with 3 different science lessons, and an online video instruction on how to use our State Fair Brownies recipe.  In total, we gave out 216 total kits during our Grab-N-Go projects this year, and I believe it helped our community not only with educational instructions, but also with getting our services out to clientele who normally would not have been involved with traditional programing.
