Planning Unit: Hardin County CES

Major Program: Promoting Healthy Homes and Communities (general)

Plan of Work: Unrelated to a specified County Plan of Work

Outcome: Initial Outcome

With the outbreak of COVID-19 and the need for massive amounts personal protective equipment as well as certain other medical needs, and as a result of our large, new facility; agent was contacted by local EMS director as well as Lincoln Trail Area Health Department about the possibility of our office serving as a drop point for all FEMA supplies coming into this eight county area.  We agreed and  our Extension leadership requested and received a donated forklift from local commercial equipment dealer.  Though much of March and April we received and off-loaded numerous semi-loads of materials that were placed within our facility, then  were sorted by county and medical facility, for pickup by the EMS directors in each of the Lincoln Trail counties.

Also in conjunction with the local KTCTS institution, whose staff using three-D printers produced face shield frames, and brought those to us to assemble into face-shields for medical personnel to use also in the Lincoln Trail Area.  Our staff assembled some 900+ of these face-shields which were distributed as fast as we assembled them.
