The Purchase Area Teen Council held the 3rd annual Purchase Area Teen Leadership Round-Up for purchase area youth in grades 6th-12th on February 28. The event was designed by and for youth, with teens planning event details, teaching workshops and funshops, and promoting area and state level teen leadership opportunities. The Round-Up provided a six-hour learning opportunity in leadership. The day included opportunities for small group mentoring, leadership breakouts by age, funshops in a variety of 4-H curriculum areas, and a community service project in which the youth made 4-H friendship bracelets and handwritten note cards for youth in foster care. Over 80 people attended, including 72 youth and 8 adults. There were youth from six different counties with Fulton County bringing five youth one of which was returning and also had a role in planning and leading PATLR. The other four attending were new participants and they all said they had a really good time and would definitely attend next year! Two also commented, that they learned about 4-H and wanted to join the local 4-H Teen Club!
