Anderson County Agricultural Development Council
Members of the Anderson County Agricultural Development Council are responsible for dissemination of funds from the Master Settlement Agreement. Board members must review proposals as they are received and evaluate them on the merits of the benefits for Anderson County farmers. As funds become tighter determining how best to benefit all farmers in the county becomes challenging. These monies are often invested back into local communities across the state, thus helping keep our small towns vibrant. Our Council strives to fund projects and proposals that increase net farm income for farmers and farm families and add value to Kentucky agricultural businesses. Members of the council are all non paid volunteers who donate their time by serving. Board members guide the County Agricultural Investment Program by offering 10 investment areas that give Anderson County farmers the ability to increase net farm income, add value to their product and diversity their operations. All producers who are funded must fulfill a yearly educational requirement sanctioned by Extension. This past year we were able to fund 52 local farmers on cost shard reimbursement.
