Homemaker Sewing Projects

Many Harrison County Extension Homemaker volunteers have been donating their time and talent to helping others through the use of their sewing skills.  The International Sewing committee, a created subcommittee under the International Chairmanship, made 452 T-shirt dresses, pillowcase dresses and men’s shirt dresses that were sent to girls and women in Haiti and Ghana. This project was in response to a request promoted by the KEHA International Chairman based on the need of girls and women in the aforementioned countries.  As a result,  not only did the Harrison County Extension Homemakers help to enhance the lives of others but  were recognized at the Bluegrass Area Extension Homemakers as the county to have made and submitted the most dresses to the cause.
