During the reporting period, Dr. Ashurst received 3 grants/contracts totaling $291,914. One grant for $87,000 (year 1 amount; 5 year grant) is for a Children, Youth and Families at Risk (CYFAR) grant to provide life skills programming for at-risk youth. Grant sites will be in Fayette and Hardin Counties. A second grant is for $174,999 and is for a Military Teen Adventure Camp program to hold camps for service members and their teenage children to attend together to reconnect and focus on the parent-child relationship. A federal contract through USDA for $29,915 is for Ashurst to serve as a federal coach for CYFAR Professional Development and Technical Assistance to provide oversight and assistance to CYFAR grants in other states and territories. Also during this reporting period, Ashurst was involved as key personnel on 2 other grants that were not awarded. One was in collaboration with the University of TN and one was in collaboration with the UK College of Social Work. Two other grants were submitted during the reporting period with Ashurst involved as key personnel that are still awaiting a determination of award status - one was through the UK COllege of Social Work and one was through the University of TN.
