University of Kentucky Offred training on how to teach classes.  Horticulture Agent developed PowerPoint presentations to teach.

Initial Outcome:

Agent Training as part of CEDIK Advisory Group of UK Extension:

Under the guidance of Dr Jeff Young, Horticulture Agent created and presented to other Agents signed up in KERS 1.) Container Gardening outreach in the Uppertown Heritage Foundation 2.) Landscape Design and 3.) Landscape Drawing. Approximately 30 were in attendance.

Partnering with McCracken County Library, the “McLib Live” event on 6 May 2020 Horticulture Agent created and presented “Beginning Gardening” by Zoom. This was requested by the McCracken County Library as outreach for free education to their at-home audience. Due to Covid-19 many requests about gardening in the back yard have come into the Library and Extension. About 17 people attended. This was recorded and made available for later viewing for free on the Library website.

The McCracken County Library also sought a class in Art/Horticulture that the Horticulture Agent has presented in the past. On 10 June 2020 Horticulture Agent taught the McLib Live class entitled “Landscape Drawing.” Approximately 12 people were in attendance at the live event. The class was recorded and made available to residents by going to both the McCracken County Library website and the McCracken County Cooperative Extension Service.
