Outcome: Long-Term Outcome
Simply put, 4-H Programs in Muhlenberg County 4-H would not exist without the tremendous support of our volunteers. Monthly club meetings, activities throughout the year, day camps, overnight camps, planning stages, gathering supplies, preparing materials, all of which our volunteers play a major role in. Volunteers are the heart of 4-H, on all levels. Teen volunteers and participates are vital to our programs as well. This year, our 4-H Teen Club Members planned and hosted a Volunteer Breakfast for our adult volunteers. Fourteen eager teenagers woke up early on a Saturday morning to prepare, serve and give thanks to our leaders. Over sixty volunteers enjoyed a freshly cooked breakfast at the event. Compliments filled the tables as youth and adults exchanged conversations. Leading up to the event, teens were trained on dining and serving etiquette. How to greet individuals, how to serve and remove items from tables, and how to conversate with others. Having social skills and knowing how to show appreciation to others are lifelong skills that youth experienced by participating in this opportunity.
