Outcome: Intermediate Outcome
BASF, a local producer, as well as the Cooperative Extension Service partnered together to plant a soybean plot that showcased a new line of soybeans that could allow producers another option when choosing what varieties to plant. The Credenz soybean plot was at Butch Case's farm and was planted in order according to their Group number. This allowed us to show producers at the field day how different varieties in different groups look side by side. We also had pamphlets available for the producers showing planting rate, depth, dates, traits, etc.
Producers were able to listen to company representatives as well as talk with myself and the producer about the soybeans. This was a great hands- on experience for the 15 producers that came to the field day and allowed them to ask questions, see and feel the difference in the soybean varieties as well as learn about another option in soybeans that could potentially boost yields and in turn boost profits.
