In 2019 the Green River Area Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agents continued to record video lessons for the Green River Area Homemaker Leader Lessons. The FCS Agent in McLean County and the FCS Agent in Webster County teamed up to construct and record a lesson on PASTA. In this lesson Homemakers were taught the history of pasta, how pasta is made, the different types of pasts, how to properly store pasta, and how to make healthier choices when eating pasta. Additionally, the agents recorded a video demonstration on how to make homemade pasta. Once the materials were complied, and the video recorded the lesson was added to the Green River Area Homemaker YouTube page so homemaker groups in the Green River Area could access the lesson. Each county arranged a time for the lessons to be viewed at their local Extension Office by club leaders. After the leaders viewed the lesson and received the materials the leaders went back to their individual clubs to teach the lesson. What is unique about having the videos available on the Green River Area Homemaker YouTube channel is the ability for club leaders to review the video before teaching the lesson and the ability to show the video during their club meetings. After the lessons were reviewed homemakers were asked to submit an evaluation on their knowledge gained and how they will use the information from the lesson. Although, a low percentage of homemakers reported they would make pasta at home. There were eighty two percent who learned the proper way to store pasta and who now understand the basics of how to make fresh pasta. When asked what they liked best about the training many homemakers who completed the survey reported being able to see the demonstration of how to make the pasta was the most beneficial part of the lesson.
