Social Media platforms have been an underutilized tool by many Cooperative Extension Offices for some time now. Many offices have had social media pages for several years but because of the time restraints of the job, many have failed to keep these pages up to date with fresh, relevant content for the page’s followers. With the onset of the Corona-virus pandemic, many Extension workers were advised to work from home as much as possible to help avid the spread of the sickness. This order forced many agents including me to get creative with how to continue to share the Cooperative Extensions vast knowledge bank with clientele during the pandemic lock down. It was during this time, many agents, including myself turned to our social media platforms. Specifically, for my agriculture program area I began a video series on our office Facebook page. My videos covered a variety of topics including soil sampling, toxic plants, and pasture weeds. Many of the videos would receive 1500-2500 views each! This is in many ways a small victory; however, it shows how Extension Agents can adapt with the times to stay relevant, even amid a global pandemic. After this success I plan to continue my periodic video series even after life and work get back to “normal”.
